I need YOUR help!

Hi friends,

I have a question for you all today. Give me some tips on getting more boys and girls to read this blog. I am hoping to start getting sponsors soon, but first I need more people interested in my blog.

Please give me any tips you have. I am talking...places I can contribute my writings to send traffic from there to here, ideas for writings you all and others might like to read, anything that would be helpful.

Thank you so much!

  1. Become a member of 20Something Bloggers - www.20sb.net. I get a lot of new readers through that and you can also find some awesome blogs there.

Another good idea is to read other blogs and leave your comments. People will definitely stop in to check your blog. :)

    I hope this helps!!!

  3. i agree with the sonia, also just going around and reading and commenting on other peoples blogs. they almost always will follow back and check yours out. ive been doing that for about a month now and went from about 40 followers to almost 200... it works. also just keep up the good work, your blog looks great. update as much as possible, and most importantly keep the content good. you should do fine.

  4. Thanks Nomad! I already see the response I am getting from simply checking out other people's blogs, following more blogs, and commenting. I will definitely keep doing so. I am enjoying seeing what other people write about as well... so it is surely win-win! :)

  5. Hey Lauren! What a pretty blog you have here! Both Nomad and Sonia are right on. Commenting is always good. Comment often. Follow. Join networks. 20SB is great for the casual blogger like myself. I made some great online buddies there. But if your serious (and it sounds like you are) join more legit networks, like Brazen Careerist.

Make friends with bloggers who have lots of followers and ask them for advice!

But most importantly, blog for yourself. The best blogs are the ones where you can tell the person is having fun or getting fulfillment from what they post. No generic "want to please everyone" posts.

    Looking forward to more reads!

  6. Thanks eQ, I will check out Brazen Careerist right now and see what that is all about.

I definitely plan to keep blogging for myself, that is what it is all about - if I can please others too, that's just a bonus! :)

  7. hmm, not sure why that would be important, the sponsors? I always saw sponsorship as meaning content that doesn't blend, lacks the fluid like oil on water. The page gets locked down in load time as the mud pie loads and some flash ap appears like a neon banner as the reader tries his/her best to find the little "x" box to get out of it. It blinks on and off from what would seem like a cheap take on Milton's "Paradise Lost" reading: "your monkey confesses that you just won one million dollars, click me and collect" and what do you get out of it if someone clicks it and gets distracted? probably as much as the musicians get off each CD sell from the middle man. Just be true to yourself, the rest will follow.

If I read as "grumpy and foul," I do not mean it. I have been on an airborne frenzy with the flu. Been meaning to post and just couldn't focus that well.

Oh I have to share this quote with you! It is one of my favs of Albert Einstein: "The ideals which have lighted me on my way and time after time given me new courage to face life cheerfully, have been Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. . . . The ordinary objects of human endeavour -- property, outward success, luxury -- have always seemed to me contemptible."

(oh god! I made another long post! I have really got to stop that.)

Keep writing! Your writing style is all that stuff that Einstein admires so much.

  8. You're not being grumpy sumi-e, I hope you feel better!

And thank you for the lovely Einstein quote and compliment. I have never heard that quote before - I really like it.

Thank you for leaving a comment - they always make my day! Remember, if you wouldn't want me to leave that comment on your blog...please don't leave it on mine. In other words, be nice! :)
