The Way It Started...

"I saw them standing there pretending to be just friends, when all the time in the world could not pry them apart."

I found this quote on the blog, Novelista Barista and fell in love with it. This could describe my relationship about three years ago, before my boyfriend and I started dating. For a while I knew he liked me and I just wasn't sure. He was so sweet but becoming one of my good friends and I was just so nervous about getting into a relationship after getting hurt before.

I went back and forth with my feelings, convincing myself I didn't like him that way but always going back to the idea of dating him. And finally, I took the leap and didn't take it back. We started hanging out more, slowly but surely.

Then one night, he asked me to come over after one of his hockey games. I was tired and cranky and really didn't want to, but I agreed. I went up to his room and he said he had to get something and a few minutes later he came back and asked if I had a text. A second later I did.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" I said yes and I never looked back. That was almost three years ago. :)
