I wanted to see this movie in theaters but never made it. So the other night, I was just relaxing and decided to rent it on my own. I am a big fan of Jason Segel and I like Ed Helms, so I wanted to see it just because of that. At first, the movie was a little odd and I wasn't quite sure where it was going.
It talked a lot about signs (also, yes, the movie "Signs") and fate. Jason Segel's character, Jeff, is 30-years-old and still lives in his mother's basement. In the beginning he smokes pot and talks a lot about signs. He keeps receiving these so-called signs about "Kevin". A wrong number asking for Kevin, a kid named Kevin wearing a jersey that says Kevin, Kevin's Kandy truck, etc. I found this amusing because my boyfriend's name is Kevin. ;)
Intertwined with the story is Pat, Jeff's brother (Ed Helms) who buys a Porsche without his wife's permission and it goes on to show their dysfunctional relationship. It also shares the story of their mother (Susan Sarandon) at her work, receiving messages from a "secret admirer".
Of course at the end, all of these signs and stories come together. I loved the end. It was just the right amount of emotion and left me feeling really good at the end of watching it. I just love that feeling when you watch a movie and feel like you're alive after you watch it.
Definitely recommend this movie! It was nice and short as well - an indie classic.

We Need Each Other, Don't Forget That
First of all, Happy Anniversary to my boy! Yesterday was our 4 year anniversary. We had a wonderful time at the zoo, swimming and I watched him play softball. (Picture of us from the zoo!) xoxo! Now onto my thoughts of the day...
I think as people, human beings, we need each other. Sometimes perhaps just for a short time. Once the time is over, when we no longer need each other, something forces you to split ways.
I always wonder about relationships. As a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, sometimes I wonder why people come in and out of our lives, sometimes suddenly in either direction or for what seems no reason at all.
Perhaps sometimes, we need that friendly face to help us get through an especially tough class. When the class is over, we lose touch because we don't really need each other again after all. Other times, friendships grow and develop and you find you just understand one another so well in that time of your life. Sometimes those friendships stay for decades and other times, you fight or the person suddenly leaves you high and dry and left you wondering why. That person didn't need you anymore or you didn't need them. That shouldn't leave you feeling upset or unfulfilled. Try to look back and remember the good times you had with that person or how you helped each other in that time of your lives.
So cherish the relationships in your life RIGHT NOW. Try not to dwell in your past relationships or worry about future ones. Enjoy the people in your life and treat them well. There is a reason they are there. It might be to teach you something, you might be there to help them, or you might simply be people who just "get" each other and enjoy fun times. Whatever the reason is, they are there for a reason.

Getting Re-Motivated
First of all: don't forget to enter the giveaways! Yes I have two going on!
Well, after my yoga buddy moved in March and my yoga package ended, I just kind of stopped going. I also pretty much stopped working out on a regular basis.
It is now June. How time flies. Weeks become months and I get very used to sitting around watching TV instead of working out. Or letting my work schedule stress me out so I feel like I don't have the time.
So last week I had a surge of motivation. After months of trying to decide which yoga studio I would go to, I finally decided to buy a package at a local studio I liked. Of course I wanted a yoga buddy to help motivate me to go, I knew that if the studio wasn't close, I wouldn't want to go either. I also knew I had to find a time each week to go to class where I couldn't bail. It works out that there is a yoga class on Mondays at noon with a teacher I like. I go to the chiropractor every Monday around the same time that is just down the street from the yoga studio. What excuse do I have if I'm already right there?
I was also excited for June because I have been wanting to go back to Zumba for a while, but the lady I know who teaches didn't have any class times that worked for me. Luckily, she added a few class times for June when I can go! I even enlisted a friend to come with me, so I am definitely excited to go again!
I also bought a Groupon for a studio not too far that teaches Zumba, yoga and other classes that I need to find time to check out. Very excited!
How do you keep yourself motivated?

Stop Your Worrying Mind!
First of all: don't forget to enter the giveaways! Yes I have two going on!
“If you worry about what might be, and wonder what might have been, you will ignore what is.” – Unknown
I envy those people who seem to breeze through life
without a worry or care in the world. Most of these people must be
faking it right? I’ve always been a worrier, even when I was a little
kid.
Lying in bed at night, my mind often goes to those “perfect
scenarios” in life. Houses I’ll never own. Relationships I’ll never
have. Spending money that I probably won’t even come close to making. In
those quiet hours of the night, you can get so wrapped up in the “what
ifs” of life and worry if you’re going in the right direction.
Am in in the right relationship? Do I have the right job? Am I being
the best person I can be? Is there something more meaningful I should be
doing with my life?
The questions keep surfacing and my mind goes into a frantic state.
Have you ever felt the same way?
Worries don’t just come up about the
future either. Worrying can spout from anything, even the past.
We worry we didn’t make the right impression. We worry we didn’t say
the right thing or wear the right thing or do the right thing. We worry
we didn’t ace that interview or even kiss that certain new lover well
enough. Worry is a funny thing; it can be about anything. Unfortunately,
you can worry about the past, present and future.
Yet, what if we stopped ourselves from worrying and simply enjoyed
the life we have? If we stopped focusing on all the things we dislike
about our jobs and wonder if it is the right fit and instead, focused on
what we love about them. This could be about anything. I bet there is
something in your life that you don’t fully enjoy simply because you’re
too busy worrying about something related to it.
What if we let what will happen, happen. Trust that everything will
work out for the best if we try our best and always strive to be our
best selves. Stop the negativity and worry and replace it with laughter
and positive thoughts. Here are some tips on squashing those pesky
worries:
1. Make a list of things you’re grateful for every night.
Before you go to sleep and your mind starts churning, make sure the
last things you think about are the happy things in your life and the
things you’re grateful for.
2. Wear a rubber band or bracelet and snap it every time you encounter a worry or negative thought. The pain will remind you to squash it and to direct your mind elsewhere.
3. Write down all your worries. Set a specific time
each day to write down your worries in different categories such as
important or silly. This will help you work through them and even see
some worries as extremely ridiculous.
4. Find quotes such as this one: “Worry never robs
tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.” – Leo Buscaglia
and place it somewhere you’ll see regularly such as your bathroom mirror
or desk.
5. Lastly, if your worrying greatly affects your daily life or relationships, seek help. Talking it out with a therapist or even starting with a close friend or family member can help you sort out your feelings.
Remember, everyone encounters worry in their lives. Some more than
others, but we can all make the effort to stop these worries and regain
control of our minds and happiness.
